I am Boras (b. 2000)

By nature, I am a storyteller, and from an early age I am practicing ways of telling stories through different mediums.

Primarily relying on space and architecture, I execute my productions through the disciplines and methods most appropriate to their context.

In my academic trajectory, I had theater education during my high school years, followed by an architectural education at two influential design schools in Istanbul during my undergraduate studies, and later pursued a master’s degree in Media Architecture at Bauhaus University Weimar.

I am currently based in Berlin, where I continue my practice through project-based collaborations.

In parallel with the selected works in my portfolio, my practice unfolds through a series of activities, collaborations, and productions developed over time.

2025

I worked for one year as a Junior Creative Director at Public Art Lab Berlin, contributing to the realization of WHAT A FAMILY!, the solo exhibition of media and photography artist Ruthe Zuntz.

2024

I wrote and directed my first short film, Bleach Opera. In the same year, I realized my semi-digital animation work Pupae Obscurae. Both works were presented as part of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s annual exhibition summaery2025.

2023

Following the February 6 Türkiye–Syria earthquake, I volunteered in post-disaster building damage assessment efforts and supported the productions of various architectural collectives in Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the earthquake, working as a local consultant.

In the same year, I collaborated with Studio Nera, contributing to the design process of their upcoming chair collections.

2022

Under the umbrella of the 342 collective, I collaborated with the independent record label Euphrates Records, producing a second clothing collection alongside graphic works.

2020

I participated in the Zeki Yurtbay Ceramic Design Competition. With the aim of increasing the visibility of artists from the region where I grew up, I co-founded the 342 collective with two partners and released my first streetwear collection, İbrahimli Underground.

2019

I collaborated with underground music artist Woodcutter, serving as the visual director for his first studio album.

2018

As a scholarship holder of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), I was granted in the context of the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale, within the Turkish Pavilion curated by Kerem Piker. In the same year, my video work Contrastinople was screened at Salt Beyoğlu.
