Bleach Opera is an experimental film that documents lived experience through real-time audio recordings rather than scripted narration. Spanning from October 2023 to March 2024, the film is constructed entirely from phone conversations and voice diary entries, presented chronologically to preserve rawness and immediacy.
Departing from the melodramatic structure implied by the term soap opera, the project adopts bleach as its central metaphor—powerful, invisible, and enduring. While soap suggests surface-level narrative, bleach leaves traces that cannot be seen but are deeply felt. Through a documentary-driven approach, Bleach Opera blurs the boundary between reality and narrative, using sound as the primary medium to explore displacement, memory, and the persistence of personal experience.
