Pupae Obscurae a mixed-media animation project that merges handcraft techniques with digital production, drawing inspiration from Yugoslav avant-garde animations. Positioned between reality and the digital, the project operates through a dual visual language that combines traditional illustration, physical model-making, and contemporary animation tools.

Characters are hand-drawn abstractions derived from recurring dream figures, cut out and mounted to create a 2.5D physical presence. Landscapes are produced using mixed techniques—including coffee-stained paper, sculpted clay topographies, and cut-out urban elements—before being composed, lit, and animated in Blender. Through this hybrid process, Pupae Obscurae explores how fragmented memories and subconscious imagery can be translated into a tactile yet digitally mediated cinematic space.
